Course Overview

Business Process Modelling Notation is a new standard for Business Process Modelling. It replaces all older proprietary notations, and is expected in all new projects. Furthermore, it is an integral part of Service-Oriented Architecture, the most important development in the area of Enterprise IT for the next decade.

Our hands-on Workshop provides BPMN knowledge and skills sufficient for participating in a Business Process Re-engineering effort or for conducting Business Process Modelling for and SOA project.

Audience:

The course is designed for:

  • Business Process Analysts and Business Analysts with prior Business Process Mapping experience;
  • Business Analysts without Business Process Mapping experience;
  • Business Architects;
  • Subject Matter Experts looking for more effective way of documenting Business Processes.

Content

After the workshop, the delegates will be able to:

  • Understand the objectives and practices of Business Process Modelling;
  • Capture Business Processes in BPMN;
  • Modify and optimise Processes;
  • Build effective hierarchy of Business Processes;
  • Capturing Business Logic and Business Rules in BPMN;
  • Capture Events, Exceptions and business communication;
  • Record Business Processes within Business Architecture;
  • Reference Web Services and Transactions; 
  • Produce Reports and Traceability Matrixes.

Labs and Exercises

The Workshop will include several practical exercises based on real-life examples and closely emulating real-life activities.

To assist the development of practical skills, Business Abstraction designed integrated training environment that deliver superior training capabilities:

  • The Trainer can monitors the progress of all trainees at the same time;
  • Trainees present their work on a big screen and discuss it with peers;
  • The Trainer can work with a trainee on an example with others observing and contributing.

As a result, we achieve training productivity comparable with on-on-one training while enable communication and providing more realistic environment.
