Data Lining with Silk Framework (3 days)

Silk Framework is the leading solution for linking Semantic Information – you can think about it as ETL for Linked Data. It has a potential to deliver superior Data Integration or Master Data solutions at fraction of the time. Business Abstraction offers a very practical, hands-on course that provides practical skills necessary to link structured (relational), semi-structured and unstructured data.

Audience: the course was designed for Enterprise IT and Information Management staff involved in Innovation, Information & System Integration and Information Management, as well as for Analytics and BI specialists facing complex or unstructured data.

The course covers:

  • Installation of Silk Framework.
  • Using Silk Workbench to link data
  • Using Link Specification Language
  • Linking Semantic Data
  • Linking Relational Data
  • Linking XML and JSON
  • Linking plain text
  • Linking temporal and spatial information
  • Using Silk Framework with Hadoop

The course is very hands-on, the participants are expected to practice all presented material in the classroom.

The participants are expected to bring their own laptops. If you don’t have a laptop, we will provide a laptop sourced from a local technology rental agency at cost.

The participants willing to install Silk on their hardware will be provided with necessary assistance, however the course can be completed exclusively on the cloud.

The course assumes attending “Introduction to Enterprise Linked Data – 2 days”, and relies on skills gained in it. Attending “OWL Ontology Modelling” is also recommended.
