Overview

The course delivers advanced knowledge in application of UML to Business Analysis. It concentrates on practical aspects of using UML within an enterprise environment, working within complex enterprise models, modelling for various project arrangements, as well as communication with business and domain experts in UML. The course teaches reducing Analysis effort dramatically by introducing traceable UML Models and Modelling Workshops, then leading the specification of business-aligned solution

Audience

The course is designed for Senior Business Analysts, Business Analysts, Project Managers and Project Office Managers. It expects the motivation to deliver improvement to business performance and ability to see outside of individual tasks.

• Understanding UML concepts and Best Practices in relation to Business Analysis;
• Modelling Business Domain and Business Processes;
• Effective Use Case Modelling;
• Creating cohesive Requirements Models in UML;
• Managing Functional Requirements in UML;
• UML models traceability and verification;
• Using Enterprise Architect to produce UML-based documents;
• Enterprise Architect Project Management extension;
• Building and maintaining Enterprise UML Analysis Model
• Conducting UML Domain & Requirements modelling workshops;
• Presenting UML Models;
• Maintaining UML consistency & traceability.

Every training day contains approximatelly 50% of closely supervised individual work, modelling workshops and presentations. The material will be eaqually applicable to teams using Rational Rose, Telelogic Tao, Holocentric Modeller, Microsoft Visio and other tools, as well as for teams that decided to follow paper & whiteboard UML practice.
